Seasonal beers

 Cumbrian Five Hop (abv 5.0%)

Golden Ale, highly hopped (a blend of five hops) with an aroma of tropical fruit. Full fruit flavour with a long dry finish.

Made, as is our way, with a blend of traditional and modern hops. The signature aroma hops are Citra and Amarillo.

NZPA - New Zealand Pale Ale (abv 6.0%)

NZPA is a complex, strong, modern pale ale. It is packed with wild fruit flavours and hoppy aromas. Made using four New Zealand hops: Green Bullet, Riwaka, Motueka & Nelson Sauvin.

The Illusionist (abv 3.5%)

Brewed at Hawkshead Brewery in collaboration with Magic Rock.

A beer that is not what it seems; dark in colour but drinks like it's light and hoppy.

El Dorado (abv 5.0%)

A single hopped beer brewed with 100% El Dorado hops from the American west. This dual purpose hop delivers a balance of bitterness leading to intense flavours of tropical fruits and aromas of pears, watermelon and stone fruit. 

 



Great White (abv 4.8%)

Great White is a spiced wheat beer served cloudy at 4.8% abv. It is brewed with coriander seeds, Seville orange peel and Motueka hops from New Zealand.

IPA (abv 7.0%)

This 7% IPA is brewed with loads of American and New Zealand hops, it has an amazingly fruity aroma and flavour (without the bitterness you may expect for such a heavily hopped beer) and is backed up with a biscuity malt base.

Parma Violet IPA (abv 7.0%)

Brewed exclusively for the Rainbow IPA Challenge.

A 'violet' inspired beer. 

Brodie's Prime Export (abv 8.5%)

Previously known as Triple XBP.

Extra strength Brodie's Prime. More intense flavour but still velvety smooth.

 Jingle Fells (abv 4.5%)

Our Christmas Ale. With a new pump clip for 2013. Deep dark red, malty and bitter. It's like Christmas pudding in a glass from the Lakeland Fells.

Damson & Vanilla Stout (abv 4.5%)

A celebratory stout brewed to mark the annual Damson Day celebration in the Lyth Valley, using damsons harvested in the valley. Intensely dark with aromas of fresh damsons. The sweet vanilla balances the bitterness of the fruit which combines with the smooth, roast malts.

USPA - United States Pale Ale (abv 6.0%)

USPA is NZPA's American cousin - a highly hopped, modern pale ale made using all-American hops: Cascade, Simcoe and Colombus. Hugely fruity on the nose with added aroma from dry-hopping, more juicy tropical fruit on the palate; mango, peach & pineapple balanced with a citrus bitterness.

American Red (abv 4.2%) / Hoppy Red / Hybred

A robust red ale with a trio of American hops providing tropical fruit notes in the aroma and a notable hop flavour, balanced by a moderate malt flavour and a lasting, bitter finish. Brewed specially for JD Wetherspoon's spring beer festival 2013. Previously trialled as 'Hoppy Red' and 'Hybred' at both 4.2% and 4.8% abv.

Green Gold (abv 4.0%)

The signature hop, Dana, is from what the locals call the Green Gold Valley in Slovenia, it is backed up in this beer by New Zealand hop Pacific Jade.

Brodie's Prime Reserve (abv 8.5%)

Brodie's Prime Reserve is Brodie's Prime, brewed to extra strength and matured for at least 6 months in oak whisky barrels. This infuses the beer with whisky flavours and deepens the rich complex flavours of Brodie's Prime. Although primarily brewed for limited edition bottlings a small amount goes into 9 gallon casks and is often featured at the brewery's beer festivals where it is served straight from the oak barrel it has matured in.

Imperial Damson & Vanilla Porter (abv 8.5%)

Imperial Strength Porter conditioned with Madagascan whole vanilla pods and Lyth Valley Damsons.

Imperial Stout (abv 8.3%)

A robust imperial Stout.
