The Triumph of Fresh Local Ale at the Westmorland Show

23 September 2010

Our Beer Hall team were charged with the task of delivering the perfect pint at the Westmorland Show this year and on the day they more than stepped up to the challenge.

The Beer Hall team lead by Katie Rome won the contract to run the bars for the Westmorland Show for the first time this year, providing freshly poured drinks from two large bars and bottled ale in the Food Court to compliment the local artisan food on offer.

The beer was served fresh and cellar cool having been stillaged in our mobile cellar on site for the whole week. Wine was served chilled and an array of spirits and soft drinks were on offer to cater to every taste.

Everyone involved recognised the running of the bars as an overwhelming success, with happy customers receiving their drinks almost immediately and no real queues to speak of!

The Beer Hall team will be there again next year and look forward to providing a swift refreshing drink to all comers; let’s just hope the weather is as reliable!

Luckily we had plenty in reserve, but we still had to bring in more supplies on Saturday, only to completely run out on Sunday lunchtime!

“Lakeland Gold has won a lot of awards, but I am particularly glad that our “Red” is now getting recognition as well,” said Hawkshead Brewery’s Alex Brodie. “ pale beers continue to be the fashion, but we keep banging the drum for coloured beers, like “Red.”
