The latest in our series of rare one-off keg beers to be released is Chuckleberry Sour.
A 3.3% Berliner Weisse-style beer aged with whole fresh chuckleberries.
And yes, there is such a thing as a Chuckleberry!
Chuckleberries are a cross between a redcurrant, a gooseberry, and a Jostaberry (itself a cross between a blackcurrant and a gooseberry). They have a sweet, juicy, distinct flavour - characteristics that make great jam and to our knowledge no one has ever made a beer using this fruit before.
Chuckleberry Sour will be pouring from 6pm at The Beer Hall on Friday 4th September, for as long as it lasts, served in half and third pint measures only.
