Iti is a 3.5% pale ale named after the Maori word for ‘little’ and is brewed using 100% New Zealand hops. It is the second beer that we have brewed using only New Zealand hops. NZPA (New Zealand Pale Ale) first brewed in July 2011 now forms part of our portfolio of modern hop forward beers.
“This new beer is the little brother of NZPA” said Kiwi Head Brewer Matt Clarke, “at 6% abv NZPA is one of our stronger beers, in brewing Iti we have done something quite rare in that we have brewed a ‘littler’, more accessible version”.
Iti is brewed with low colour Maris Otter pale malt and several NZ hops including; Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and Green Bullet.
“The pale malt base used in brewing Iti is the perfect showcase for New Zealand hops” said Matt Clarke.
Iti is being launched this weekend at The Beer Hall, the Hawkshead Brewery tap and at two ticket only events; The Font, Chorlton, on Tuesday 13th May and at The Grove, Huddersfield on Monday 19th May.
