Hawkshead Brewery’s Head Brewer, Matt Clarke, is presented with a silver medal at “the brewing Oscars” awards ceremony at The Guildhall in the city of London, on Wednesday ( 29/4/15) .
Hawkshead’s “Brodie’s Prime Export” won the silver medal in the strong dark beer category. It was one of more than 800 beers from 41 countries, entered in the Brewing International Awards, which are held every two years and are known as the brewing Oscars.
Organisers claim to have “the world’s most professional tasting panel.” All judges are brewers.
This is the second time Hawkshead Brewery have scored at these awards – in 2011 Windermere Pale also won a silver medal.
