August's Cask Session Series Brew is XPA - a style first brewed in March, this time with the addition of Mosaic hops.
XPA/extra pale ale refers to the use of low colour malts which create a really clean pale base beer, the perfect platform to showcase the hops. A small amount of malted oats lend a nice mouthfeel and more palate fullness to the beer.
It's hopped with a combination of Jester, Citra and Mosaic. Jester is the UK variety that exhibits big fruit flavours akin to the Americans and has come from the Charles Faram hop breeding programme.
Malts: Low colour Maris Otter and malted oats
Hops : Jester (UK), Citra (USA), Mosaic (USA)
