The Beer Hall is open 7 days a week and is a showcase for Hawkshead beers, in cask, keg and bottle.
It has a Cask Marque award for serving “the perfect pint,” and is in all the best pub guides including: The Good Beer Guide; The Good Pub Guide; Sawday’s Special Places to Eat & Drink; Great British Pubs.
The Beer Hall is light and airy, with plenty of space spread over two floors, a long bar made for leaning on, and sofas for flopping into. Windows everywhere let you see into the brewery and if you want to get even closer take a brewery tour.
Often at weekends there is live music in the main bar.
The kitchen was opened in 2010, with the help of our consultant chef, Steven Doherty (formerly Albert Roux’s Head Chef at Le Gavroche.) We offer down-to-earth, hearty, classic food – tapas (small portions designed to complement the beer) or main meals. We encourage long lunch, by serving food until at least 3pm (6pm on Sunday.) On Friday and Saturday we serve food all the way until 8.30pm.
We are an independent brewery and we support, where possible, other independent producers – our whisky list is biased towards independent distilleries and we import our house white wine directly from a small domain we know well, in SW France.
