Our range is an eclectic mix of beers inspired both by the flavoursome hops of the new world and classic European styles and flavours.

At Hawkshead Brewery we make the sort of beer we like to drink – think distinctive, full of flavour, handmade, and perfectly crafted by our trained brewers. We’ve never designed a recipe based on cost.

Every day we handle, taste and smell our raw materials – soft Cumbrian water, malt and hops and our own unique strain of Brewers Yeast. 

We can brew up to eight times a week on our 20bbl kit at Staveley. That’s 25,000 litres a week or 2.3m pints a year!  

HISTORY OF BREWERY

Hawkshead Brewery began in 2002, in a barn just outside the village of Hawkshead in the Lake District.

One of the new wave craft brewers, creating highly hopped flavorsome beers, which was rarely seen in cask.

In 2006 we relocated to the Mill Yard, beside the River Kent at Staveley, brewing on a new 20 barrel Brewhouse and built a brewery tap - The Beer Hall.

Based in the heart of the UNESCO Lake District, brewers of bold, innovative beers since 2002. 

From 14 hand pumps, knowledgeable, friendly staff serve the full range of Hawkshead Brewery beers. It's a spacious and modern glass-fronted building, the main bar is on two levels. 

We also have a bottle shop where you can purchase our great Hawkshead Brewery beers, T-shirts, branded glasses and an array of different merchandise. Ready for your beer drinking sessions or to relax in showing your support to the Hawkshead Brewery brand.

Getting Here - 
Hawkshead Brewery is in the village of Staveley, half way between Kendal and Windermere, off the A591, the main road into The Lakes.

You can get to us:
By Train
Staveley station is served by regular trains on the Windermere – Oxenholme line. The brewery is around 10 minutes walk from the station.

By Bus
Staveley is on the regular 555/554 bus route which extends as far as Lancaster or Keswick. Some services of the 800 Bike Bus also call at Staveley. www.stagecoachbus.com

By Car
Take junction 36 off the M6. Follow the A590 then A591 signposted Windermere. Staveley is signed from the A591, there are also brown tourist signs for 'Hawkshead Brewery'
