WHO WE ARE?

Brewers of bold, innovative beers since 2002, based in the heart of the Lake District

Our range is an eclectic mix of beers inspired both by the flavoursome hops of the new world and classic European styles and flavours.

Big hopped Pale Ales - Classic British styles  - Juicy IPAs  - Crisp Lagers - Stouts and Porter - Sours

We use local Lake District water that falls on the hills and is filtered through mineral rocks which are great for brewing. The fresh mineral rich water which enhances the unique and refreshing flavour of our beers today.

HISTORY OF BREWERY

Hawkshead Brewery began in 2002, in a barn just outside the village of Hawkshead in the Lake District.

One of the new wave craft brewers, creating highly hopped flavorsome beers, which was rarely seen in cask.

In 2006 we relocated to the Mill Yard, beside the River Kent at Staveley, brewing on a new 20 barrel Brewhouse and built a brewery tap - The Beer Hall.

In 2018 we commissioned a new state of the art Krones Brewkit and began work on our new Brewery in Flookburgh which was fully functional later that year in September

THE BEER HALL AT STAVELEY

Based in the heart of the UNESCO Lake District, brewers of bold, innovative beers since 2002.

From 14 hand pumps, knowledgeable, friendly staff serve the full range of Hawkshead Brewery beers. It's a spacious and modern glass-fronted building. the main bar is on two levels.

We also have a bottle shop where you can purchase our great Hawkshead Brewery beers, T-shirts, branded glasses and an array of different merchandise. Ready for your beer drinking sessions or to relax in showing your support to the Hawkshead Brewery brand.

FLOOKBURGH & THE BREWHOUSE

Hawkshead opened the new Flookburgh site in 2018, a move that trebled its annual production capacity. The centrepiece of this is a Krones turn-key 40 barrel (6,500 litre) rapid-batch brewhouse, capable of multiple brews per day.

The kit can initially produce up to 240 beer barrels (8,640 gallons or 69,000 pints) of beer each week, with this set to increase as it gears up to export its Hawkshead Lager and Hawkshead Windermere Pale across Eastern and Western Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Staveley is continuing production, concentrating on small batch specialist and limited edition beers. It currently produces 7,000 barrels (11,500 Hectolitres) per year.
