    Oak Aged No5

Saturday 21st November will see the launch of the next beer in our numbered oak aged series – No5.

Although brewed mainly for bottle we have a small amount of this one-off beer on draught. The bar will be serving No5 from both keg and cask, with bottles available to take away. The cask version in particular is very rare, it’s not on general sale and we only have one pin so it’s super limited.

No5 is a matured version of our Brodie’s Prime Export at 8.5% - aged for 9 months in oak casks last filled with red wine from Burgundy (Pinot Noir grape). It is a deep, dark, rich, malty winter ale. A beer that can be enjoyed now but will also benefit from further ageing.

  • Following on from 2016's amazing events and outstanding beers we're pleased to say that The Rainbow Project will be
returning in 2016, this time with 7 breweries from New Zealand.

The draw has been made, we've been paired with Yeastie Boys and have the colour green.

September is once again the target for launching this huge collaborative project so watch this space for updates.

The breweries and their counterparts taking part are:

    Red: Beavertown / ParrotDog
Orange: Burning Sky / Liberty Brewing
Yellow: Magic Rock / Fork & Brewer
    Green: Hawkshead / Yeastie Boys
Blue: Wild Beer Co. / 8 Wired
    Indigo: Siren / Garage Project
    Violet:Partizan / Panhead

The announcements were made during #craftbeerhour - the Tuesday night Twitter-based chat (which we'll be featuring in on 1st December 9pm).

  • Saturday 28th November 12pm.

Release of 3 versions of Oat Wine, our collaboration brew with Wild Beer Co (in keg & bottle) and a Wild Beer Co mini tap-takeover.

A pop-up keg bar in The Beer Hall will serve 3 versions of Oat Wine; cask aged, cider brandy barrel aged and Bourbon barrel aged, plus 3 guest kegs from Wild Beer Co.

Our Brewers will be serving and on hand to have a chat to over a beer.

To complement the beers we’ve sourced cheese from Wild Beer Co’s neighbours, Westcombe Dairy, and a selection of Cumbrian meats. You’ll also be able to order from the menu of the day.

The event is free, no tickets are necessary.

  • Have a hoppy Christmas with a Hawkshead advent calendar.

24 removable windows each revealing a bottle of Hawkshead beer, available to purchase via The Beer Hall - phone 01539 825260.

Contains Lakeland Range, Speciality Collection and Limited Edition beers including an extra-special bottle for Christmas Eve.

As you may know we don't have 24 different bottled beers so a few are duplicated.

Mix of 330ml & 500ml bottles, various ABVs.
