Hawkshead Bitter is, for the second year running, one of CAMRA’s “Beers of the Year” as listed in the new 2013 edition of the Good Beer Guide, just published.
It gets the accolade by being a finalist in the Champion Beer of Britain (CBOB) competition. CBOB is judged at the Great British Beer Festival in August, which this year was held at Olympia, London.
Renowned Hawkshead Bitter is sold in the best real ale pubs in The Lakes and North West. It is a favourite among hikers and is described as the perfect thirst quencher after a day on the Fells. It’s low strength 3.7% abv makes it a great session ale.
Our other low strength beer – Windermere Pale is current overall champion beer of SIBA North and was awarded a silver medal at the national championships earlier this year.
