  • 11,426 miles between brewers didn't stop this year’s International Rainbow Project bringing some of the most talked about and in demand collab beers of the year to the U.K:

Red | Beavertown & Parrotdog | Universal Mind | 10.5% | Adambier aged in marsala barrels
Orange | Burning Sky & Liberty Brewing | Descent into the Maelstrom | 6.66% | Eclectic borderless beer
Yellow | Magic Rock & Fork Brewing | The Upside Down | 6% | Sour tropical fruit witbier hybrid
Green | Hawkshead & Yeastie Boys | Kai Moana Gose | 6% | Seafood & green gooseberry gose
    Blue | Wild Beer Co. & 8 Wired | Black & Blue | 5% | Raw + charred + barrel aged sour

Violet | Partizan |Royal Ale | 8.5% | Barley wine with riesling grape juice

The ticketed launch parties at Siren and Beavertown breweries sold out well in advance and lines formed outside at both The Beer Hall and Magic Rock’s tap room (the non-ticketed events) prior to opening. Mixed cases were sold online by retailer Honest Brew and getting hold of one was described as the beer equivalent of Glasto tickets.

Here’s some of the comments we received about Kai Moana Gose:
"Salty, gooseberry. Refreshing and smooth. You can taste the effort put into this one"
"Superb! Salty, smooth sweet all rolled into one. I get the fruity notes as well. Great start to my Rainbow Project 2016 box"
"Great sharp, citrus taste. A slightly salty finish. Entirely refreshing and moreish. Give me another"
"Smooth silky (oyster) finish with a salty gooseberry hit!"
"Heavenly Gose from the Rainbow Project. Fresh, salty, hoppy and utterly drinkable"

Bottles and t-shirts of Kai Moana Gose are available delivered to your door from our webshop.

Let's see what next year will bring for the Rainbow Project!

  • Green | Hawkshead & Yeastie Boys

    Name: Kai Moana Gose
    ABV: 6%
Brief Description: A refreshingly tart, salty and fruity gose made with Kai Moana (Maori for seafood) NZ hops and green gooseberries.

    Story:
We drew the colour green again (!!!) and that inspired thoughts of the sea surrounding both island nations. We sourced the finest oysters from Loch Fyne, native green lipped mussels from New Zealand and Himalayan rock salt. Lightly hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Motueka it’s all brought together by a big late addition of green gooseberries. Sit back and enjoy the colour green.

    Launch:
Saturday 17th September will see the official launch of this year’s International Rainbow Project.

The Beer Hall will host a launch party, simultaneously with Beavertown (London), Siren (Berkshire) and Magic Rock (Huddersfield) breweries.

The free event at The Beer Hall will see all 7 of the rainbow beers served on draught keg. To complement the beers the kitchen will also be serving a New Zealand inspired menu including dishes such as The Kiwi Burger, Steak & Cheese Pie and Pavlova.

    Rainbow Mixed Cases:
Mixed cases, which include all seven collab beers along with a souvenir Rainbow Project 2016 glass will be released at the launch.
