About Hawkshead Brewery

Based in the heart of the English Lake District and brewers of bold, innovative beers since 2002.

Our beer range is an eclectic mix inspired both by the flavoursome hops of the new world and classic European styles and flavours with a range of core beers available in cask, keg, bottle or can. At Hawkshead Brewery we make the sort of beer we like to drink – think distinctive, full of flavour, handmade, and perfectly crafted by our trained brewers.

The Brewery Tap at our Staveley site is open every day, as well as having our head office based at our Flookburgh distribution site.

Hawkshead Brewery began in 2002, in a barn just outside the village of Hawkshead in the English Lake District. Brewing on a 7 barrel second hand kit and creating highly hopped (for the time) cask beers in an unsaturated craft beer scene, Hawkshead was born. In 2006 we relocated to the Mill Yard, beside the River Kent at Staveley, in Cumbria and began brewing at our new 20 barrel brewhouse. We then began to build our brewery tap - The Beer Hall.

Hawkshead Brewery was bought in 2017 and is now ran and owned by Halewood International Ltd

65% of what we produce is “real ale” which is cask conditioned beer, a peculiarly British speciality - it is Britain's craft. We think this is the best way to appreciate low gravity session ale and we know that the best way to serve our cask conditioned beer is in the northern manner, through a tight sparkler to create a creamy head! We also produce a wide range of keg beers…a choice for everyone!

We deliver our beers in cask, keg, can and bottle to pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels and independent specialist beer shops. We deliver directly and regularly in our own vans throughout the whole of the North West. If you would like to order beer for your bar please call our sales team on 01539 822644. Hawkshead beer can also be ordered throughout the UK through selected wholesalers.
